Online gambling includes sports betting, casinos, and virtual poker. The Internet is an excellent tool for online gambling, but there are some risks associated with it. There are also legal issues related to the industry.<\/p>\n<p>Online gambling is illegal in the United States. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act prohibits financial transactions between a person or company that uses the Internet for gambling and a gambling site. This act also prohibits people from receiving bets or transmitting bets online.<\/p>\n<p>Although the law is designed to stop illegal gambling, some legal issues still remain. This includes the use of the Internet for gambling by children. There have also been challenges on constitutional grounds. The First Amendment guarantees free speech, but it has been questioned whether the government may impose laws that limit speech.<\/p>\n<p>The Commerce Clause has been a topic of debate, as many have argued that the government may not interfere with interstate commerce. These arguments have been largely ineffective.<\/p>\n<p>The United States has prosecuted several cases involving illegal Internet gambling. These cases include the United States v. K23 Group Financial Services and United States v. Grey. Both involve bartenders and managers of establishments that have video poker machines.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Communications Commission also has jurisdiction over common carriers, such as telephone companies and cable television companies.
